This is a brilliant book! I've got two copies of this so am going to release this one.
I picked this up because - sometimes - I dress up as an 11th century Viking settler in the small settlement of Escafeld.
For cartoon drawings, they look pretty accurate - no horned helmets or women in metal bras! :o)

This book should coax any child into reading, or into reading about history if it's not their thing. Cheerfully gruesome, reasonably historically accurate, and illustrated with cartoons, it's an attractive and painless way to take a dose of history.
