Very interesting, quick read about many of the historic graveyards in New England. Each one- to two-page description includes a profile of some notable person or impressive marker contained in the graveyard.

I'll be mailing this to ateehee as part of a mail trade.

The descriptions of the cemeteries are brief and at first it annoyed me that there wasn't more detail. Then I realized I was reading this book incorrectly. It isn't a story book filled with anecdotes about the memorials, it is a travel book meant to entice you into touring these cemeteries yourself. It does that very well! I definitely want to visit most of the graveyards listed. With that in mind, I appreciated the authors lack of detail, for if the book showed me all the sites, why would I want to go and see for myself? I really liked the list at the end that explained the meanings of common symbols on gravestones. This is a good book for anyone interested in cemeteries and graves.

I will take it to the meet up tonight, but if no one wants it, I will bring it home and find a proper release spot for it...
