This book won the Hugo for best novel in 1995. (A Hugo is the top award for science fiction and fantasy writers.) It's the book that got me hooked on this series. If you enjoy tantalizing characters, well-written fiction, space opera and exploration of technology, then you will enjoy this book. This particular copy is kind of battered, but all the pages are intact.
