Popcorn

Ben Elton originally wrote "Popcorn" as a play (which I saw at Nottingham Playhouse) before writing the novel. It is a black comedy about a film-maker who makes violent films, and his reaction when real violence enters his life.
I picked this book up at today's Nottingham meet. It had been brought by Lebensfreude, a new Book Crosser who hasn't had time to register any books yet.

I've decided to take this book on holiday with me. I will update this journal entry with a review on my return.
Updated 24/07/2005:
'It is said that men who practice the ancient Chinese art of kung fu are capable of retracting their testicles at the first sign of danger. They probably couldn't do it if the testicles in question were held in the vice-like grip of a large gangster.'
A black comedy about a Tarantinoesque film director and a white-trash couple who kill for fun, which savagely satirises the relationship between violence and the media.
