The debut from Newmarket-based Scottish ‘veterinary surgeon, writer and climber, not necessarily in that order’ introduces Dr Kellen Stewart and her past and present Sapphic lovers & friends. There are a lot of strong females in this and for someone used to hetero books [although I didn’t know before reading this!], some of the anti-stereotypes and language was strangely disconcerting, but that’s probably just me :)

The plot is suitably convoluted, involving genetics, hen’s(!) and the mean streets of Glasgow. A fast-paced and well plotted crime thriller.

Taking along to the BookCrossing meet-up to share or leave on the Caffe Nero shelves

Waiting for a meeting in Caffe Nero Ipswich (for someone who did not turn up), I picked this off the shelf and was soon immersed. I found it enjoyable but overcomplicated; some of the characters are quite absurd. I will release it back into the wild.
