Book Description
Molly Clearwater had always wanted to escape the confines of her small-town upbringing to make a splash as a career woman in London. But somehow, working as a low-level assistant for the boorish Malcolm Figg wasn't nearly as fulfilling as she had hoped-until Malcolm offered her a "perk"-a free weekend business trip to Paris. She's ecstatic until she discovers that Malcolm's idea of "business" isn't exactly the same as hers. Horrified, Molly storms out of the office. With nothing else to lose, she impulsively boards a train to Paris, intent on treating herself to a long weekend in the City of Light.

Within moments of stepping onto the cobblestoned streets of Paris, Molly is swept up in an adventure that defies her imagination. From infiltrating a conference in a Cleopatra wig to sharing her deepest secret with a complete stranger, Molly's weekend away from her troubles turns into a dizzying voyage of passion and self-discovery, transforming her absolutely...

Thank you Ri! This book arrived today. Thank you so much for sending it and no need to be sorry for it taking so long.

I am not sure when I will get around to reading this as I am going to be away next week and also work is busy right now but I will release/relay or trade it when I am finished.

I couldn't resist and read this book over the weekend. I should have read something else that has been on my shelf longer but I just wanted to read it and I am glad I did!

I really liked the book and thought it was better than her other book I read (Perfect Strangers). I loved the characters and the whole storyline was interesting. It kept me guessing and I was so happy with how everything worked out! However I would have liked an epilogue (but I say that about alot of books hehe).

The only thing I didn't like about this book was the assumption that the reader would know what all the French words were. I am sure they didn't mean much and it didn't spoil the story but I would have liked to have seen the English equal at least in brackets or as a footnote. However I got a F in French so I would have needed it :)

Thank you again Ri for sending this on to me! I will be looking out for the other books by this author! I will either trade/relay or release this book but most likely I will take it to the next English meet-up because I can think of at least 1 person who may like this one.

Got it from the English MeetUp. Amber recommended it to me and I think she might be right, it really looks like something I love to read.

My Review: December 2007

A nice and fast read, but nothing memorable.

Molly quits her job after her boss suggests some 'overtime' at their upcoming business trip to Paris. She decides to go to Paris nonetheless and adventurous 48 hours lay ahead of her.

got it at the meetup.
I'm probably going to take it with me to London in 2 weeks :-)

edited to add: nice chick lit, but the style seemed a bot old-fashioned, I've read better but I've definitely read worse ;-)

I just spent a weekend in Paris with the love of my life. Will read this with interest.

This book has been my companion over the past few night shifts. I've read it while waiting on deserted taxiranks in between passengers, and I've been whizzing through the streets of Paris on a motorscooter, relaxing with a coffee, looking out over the Seine...

And falling in love.

OK. Chicklit of the best sort. The plot was a little predictable, I thought, but when you've only got a few characters in a book, the author has to make use of them. I'll admit that I've had the recent benefit of a month of French lessons and a week in France, so I didn't find the snippets of French too challenging. There's alway's Babelfish to provide a ready translation.

Top marks for atmosphere. This book took me back to Paris, and I sighed with happy memories until I put it down at last, wondering if there was a sequel in another of my favorite cities: London.
