Due to lack of funds at the moment, the local charity shop is my new book dealer :-)

This book has collected web blog entries from an Iraqi known to millions as Salam Pax. I first came across this name while researching blogs for a Sociology essay. Salam's blog, at first, seems typical of most blogs - he bitches about his boss, worries about his friends and loves buying new CDs. But of course Salam is living in Irag which must be freed and sold democracy by Bush Inc.

Well worth a read and, for once, a blog that actually matters. The original blog is still available on the web and can found here: http://dear_raed.blogspot.com/ though the updates have filtered off somewhat.

Oops, I forgot to journal this. I picked this up from Drusillamac when we met up at the mini-meet. JoeSoap's spied it and is half-way through it.

We often hear that Blair's war in Iraq was for 'the Iraqi people' and it would be all too easy to assume that 'the Iraqi people' welcomed his war with joyous celebration... it is fascinating to read just what one of 'the Iraqi people' actually felt during the weeks and months before the bombings and to get an insight into just how the occupation has affected those on the ground.

Whether you agreed with the war or not this book should definitely be on your 'to read' list.

...but you'll have to wait because Drutt wants to read it next :o)
