The Shop on Blossom Street

Just bought it. It's about a knitting class. Cute, light reading.
Sending out to fellow BookCrosser, craftykat, for a trade. Happy Reading!!
Got this book in the mail yeserday. I can't wait to read it. Thank you so much for sending it to me.
Another great Debbie Macomber book. There was a storyline in here that I should have seen coming but didn't. It was another great read from Debbie. I was anxious to read this and the next one "A Good Yarn," as I manage a craft store and the yarns listed along with the techniques are so familiar to me. I am going to make the afghan that she gives the pattern for in the book. I also am going to get the accompanying afghan pattern books from Leisure Arts that she has written. Thanks so much to Kaetzchen-GA for sending this to me. My mother also read this and loved it and now I am going to send it along to BigBird2002 as it is on her wishlist.
From the book:
"There's a little yarn shop on Blossom Street in Seattle. It's owned by Lydia Hoffman, and it represents her dream of a new life free from cancer. A life that offers a chance at love...
Lydia teaches knitting to beginners, and the first class is "How To Make a Baby Blanket." Three women join. Jacqueline Donovan wants to knit something for her grandchild as a gesture of reconciliation with her daughter-in-law. Carol Girard feels that the baby blanket is a message of hope as she makes a final attempt to conceive. And Alix Townsend is knitting her blanket for a court-ordered community service project.
These four very different women, brought together by an age-old craft, make unexpected discoveries---about themselves and each other. Discoveries that lead to friendship and more..."

Oh, what an awesome surprise. Thank you so much. This has become one of my favorite authors. Thank you!
Oh, this was a great book! I really enjoy the way that Debbie Macomber can make the characters so that the reader really feels as if she knows the characters. I also didn't see the one story line coming, and it was a great surprise. I am going to start "A Good Yarn" today. In the meantime I am sending this book off to Jumieges as a surprise RABCK, as it is on her Wish List. I hope this book gets to her long before she was scheduled for the book ring.
BigBird, I'm editing my previous post because I thought for sure this was part of that bookring I had joined for it, and I didn't read your post clearly enough! (Come to think of it, no one ever asked me for my address, I guess that should've been my first clue!) Thank you, thank you, thank you for the surprise RABCK! It's the first time I've received one and yes, it came before the book ring. I just finished it this morning and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now that I know it's mine in the meantime, I'm going to go back and read it again!
I enjoyed all the characters, but I particularly identified with Lydia. Not sure how much I want to give away for any future readers of this book, but I felt for her as she underwent tests for a recurrence of cancer, as my aunt went through this battle several times before dying so young (at an age which I seem to be very quickly approaching!). All's well that end's well, as the saying goes, and the author has done an excellent job of tying up everything at the end. A book I highly recommend!
