From the back cover:
Seventeen years ago, government agent Joshua Kendall was part of a raid on the cultlike Young Believers compound. His own bullet killed an innocent girl, and he has lived with the guilt ever since. But a new assignment will reveal that the most shattering incident of Josh's life was nothing more than a lie.
Elizabeth Marcum was that girl. She survived the bullet from the botched raid adn now lives under a new identity in rural Vermant, hiding fromt he cult leader who has managed to elude capture all those years. But she's tired of running, tired of hiding. If Mordecai Young tracks her down, so be it.
When Josh is sent to protect Elizabeth - and realizes who she is - he will do anythingto keep her alive, including lying about who he is. But as Moredecai descends back into their lives they become targets in a deadly battle that threatens to shatter their last chance at life and love.

This is another one of those books that once I started reading it I felt compelled to finish just so that I could get to the end and find out what happens. It is a little predictable as with these types of stories you can pretty much assume that they will get together in the end.
I was a little surprised at the way that some of the things in hte book were handled. It seemed to me that they were being a little bit naive in many places. I kinda thought that Elizabeth would recognize the name of her shooter. Afterall, this is the age of technology, surely she could have looked up that information on the internet.
There were several places in the book that dragged. I thought that the chase through the woods was much too long and relatively unclimatic. If that scene had been reduced considerably it would not have changed the story much in my opinion. I really go tired while reading that sectiom. There were someplaces in the book that had too much or two little description of the surroundings. I would have liked it to be a little more consistent throughout the writing.
All in all it was a decent read but it isn't too high up there on my list of books to recommend to others.
