From the cover:

"Behind the yellow crime-scene tape, a brutal tableau awaits. On a lonely lovers' lane in the hills of Los Angeles, a young couple lies murdered in a car. Each victim bears a single gunshot wound to the head. Though the female remains unidentified, her male companion has a name--Gavin Quick--and a troubled past that had landed him on a therapist's couch. It's there,on familiar turf, that psychologist-sleuth Alex Delaware hopes to find vital clues. And that means going head-to-head with Dr. Mary Lou Koppel, a celebrity psychologist who fiercely guards the privacy of her clients...alive or dead. As Delaware follows a chain of greed, corruption, and betrayal snaking hideously through the profession he thought he knew, he'll cross into territory even *he* never dreamed of treading."

OK, maybe the whole psychologist-sleuth thing is kind of far-fetched, but I love these characters, especially Milo Sturgess!

Another good, fluffy read by Kellerman.

This is the first Jonathan Kellerman novel I have read, and due to my interest in mysteries and psychology I was sure I would enjoy it. As it turns out I did like it very much and found Alex Delaware a compelling detective. I look forward to reading more Alex Delaware novels.

I was slowed down in passing this along due to my recent illness and surgery, but I just sent it off to bksfamly, who was supposed to receive the book before me but was skipped. Happy reading!

Recv'd today, safe & sound in Iowa. I've got one other book to read ahead of this one, but it shouldn't be too long at all. Thanks for letting me be part of this book's journey! :0D

Update Nov 15: I started reading late last night. (I told ya' it wouldn't be too long. [grin])

Journal Entry 11 by juniebug from Marcus, Iowa USA on Saturday, November 18, 2006
I've read several books by Kellerman - some I enjoyed a great deal, others not to much. This is one that I enjoyed. :0) Full of twists & turns! As often happens in a good murder mystery, I find myself wishing I'd paid closer attention to all of the characters as they were introduced. (And that's all I'm gonna' say about that.)

I've already PMd vsimeone and this will be off in the mail as soon as I get an address.

I have 1 1/2 books ahead of this one but I am going on vacation for the holidays and should be completely caught up by the end of the month. Thanks for including me in the ring! I'm so sorry that I have taken so long with this book! I hate when life gets in the way of my reading! The rest of my world has finally calmed down and I got a chance to finish this story. It was pretty typical Jonathan Kellerman but I enjoy his stories. I especially like the Alex Delaware novels. This one wasn't anything earth-shattering or terribly suspenseful but it kept me guessing a bit! Thank you for including me in the ring and I apologize again for taking so long.

I have PM'ed keithneese and will mail this out just as soon as I get an address. Best wishes!
