According to the cover it is a lovestory - an unusual one, but still a lovestory. Human emotions and dreams related to lovestories play definitely an important part in the book - but that is the case for most books.
One could also say it's a book about growing up, trying to avoid ending up where your parents ended - almost succeeding but failing at last.
It is also a narration of a quest. At first the quest lies in achieving access to the ancient Gothic Silver Bible and stealing it. That quest takes an interesting turn triggered by the Gothic sentence "undaro wlita mein anamma is wlits anar" (Behind my image is another image). Finding out what that means is the new quest. Without giving away how that mystery is solved, I can only say that the answer is more profound than I expected. I expected a philosofical/philological answer, but instead the story took an unexpected, detectivelike turn. Unexpected, fun, but when I finished the book I was a bit unsatisfied - I would have liked a philological explanation, but philology is merely a personal interest of mine.

This is litterature as litterature was meant to be. Not a very difficult book to read and the writer did his research accurately. Hope you enjoy!
