I have managed to pick up two of these, but not read either of them yet!
I love Marele Day's thrillers. They're set in Australia -- with a female protagonist, PI Claudia Valentine -- and are lovely and twisty and turny and red-herring-y.
I've taught "The Life and Crimes of Harry Lavender", another book in this series, to upper-school English students. You can read them on the surface level as a gripping thriller, but there's a lot more in there, such as gender issues, image of Australians, the image of Sydney etc etc... What fun!
