Received safe & sound thankyou.
This has scarily tiny text & I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by it already! I have a feeling I might need to read it alongside something lighter, which is a sad indication of how lazy my reading tastes have become.
I just started another Ring book last night, but it's only a thin one so I should be able to get started on this properly shortly.

Very thought provoking & left me with lots of food for thought.
I actually forgot to journal this at the time, & posted it off to dschinny a couple of days ago.

Arrived on Monday, thanks! Has to queue a bit though as I have two other rings to read before that.
When I started reading, I wasn't sure if I would finish the book. I found the beginning very slow and just couldn't concentrate on it. But because the topic is so very interesting, I stuck with it and half way through I was hooked. Very interesting insights and a lot of facts to think about.
This book just calls for a worldwide mass release in all the big brand stores! With a note on it: "WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!"
Will take it to the post office today (2.8.05).

picked this up from the post office today. just finished the book i was reading, so i can start right away. thank you perfect-circle for restarting the ring!
i had a very hard time getting into this book. the topic was very intersting, the writing was good, but i found it extremely slow. i actually skipped half-chapters every now and then, which is a VERY BAD THING to do. i did get through with it, eventually. and i'm glad i did because - and i repeat myself here - the topic IS interesting and should be brought to everybody's attention.
will send this on to drutt, shortly.

moving on to the scotland
It's arrived! I'm looking forward to starting this shortly.
JoeSoap and I moved house a couple of weeks ago and our time, outside of work, has largely been taken up by packing, moving, unpacking and cleaning.
This is just to reassure you that the book's safe, that we've both been reading it, and that it'll be on its way to Hexa in the next couple of weeks.

This was an eye-opener and a very worthwhile read. I did occasionally get a little bogged down with it and crave a lighter read, but I'd agree with concertina8 that it's something everyone should read sometime.
I'm afraid JoeSoap only got a little bit into this before he needed to focus on NaNoWriMo planning and writing, but I'm glad to say that it's now on its way to Hexa. Sorry about the delay.

Received safely - I've got one more bookring ahead of this one, but will get to it asap - I've been wanting to read this for ages!
I thought this was well written and accessible, and as others have said everyone should read it. I can't decide whether to be encouraged by the growing opposition to brand ubiquity, or scared by how strong the brands are - people with Nike tattoos! Mind boggling - I think what makes me most angry is the way that brands have become a substitute for spirituality for so many people.
Sending on to catsalive as soon as I have an address.

I have received this book, thanks Hexa.
As much as I'm interested in this subject I just can't read this book. I've given it 50 pages but I feel too much like I'm reading a thesis, & the small print is doing my head in.
Thanks anyway, perfect-circle. I have PMd PokPok & will send it off as soon as I have an address.

PokPok has asked to be skipped so I've PMd cowgirl-up.
Posted to cowgirl-up today, 12/5/6.
Arrived in the mail this weekend. I have one ring ahead of this one, but hopefully I'll be able to start very soon.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was slow at times and felt a little too technically written, but overall the message was good. It was a very interesting take on branding and the extremes that can turn it sour.
Mailed today to ldpaulson.

Found in my postal box the week of September 25 with an avalanche of Book Crossing rings and rays. I've been looking forward to reading it! I promise to read this as soon as humanly possible.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Essential reading for any thinking member of the global village. Some of the personal asides are a bit off-putting, but the content contains important information and asks important questions about the insidious ways in which we are quietly manipulated and marketed.
Trying to find the mailing address for next reader in line.
hi... I just got this book... or I should say, someone in the house just let me know it was here.. I don't know when it actually arrived in the mail.. so if I'm holding up the group I'll pass it on, if not, I'll read this week and send it out.
Received in the mail yesterday from sadiavt. I'll get to it as quick as I can!
I am looking forward to this. Thank you - it has arrived!
A quick update that I have about a third left to read. Will finish soon and send on its way. Very eye opening so far, and disturbing to me. Sorry for slowness. I have the next reader's address already so will send off soon.
mailed to bookmanu today!
very informative read-- and valuable. broadened my perspective. like some others, i felt i was reading the same issue many times but-- i have to say, i get it now and i see the many things with a different eye b/c so many examples were given.
thank you very much for including me. i look forward to reading more of the author's work.
