"Emma is like every other girl in the world. She has a few little secrets.

Secrets from her mother:
1. I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom to Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben Hur.

...From her boyfriend:
2. I'm a size twelve. Not a size eight, like Connor thinks.
3. I've always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken.
As in Barbie and Ken.

...From her colleagues:
4. When Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day)
5. It was me who jammed the copier that time. In fact, all the times.

...Secrets she wouldn't share with anyone in the world:
6. My G string is hurting me.
7. I faked my Maths GCSE grade on my CV.
8. I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is...

...until she spills them all to a stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger..."

I enjoyed this book. Though, having just read "The Undomestic Goddess", I feel that Ms Kinsella does enjoy having her heroines run away from the situations they find themselves in, literally!

Some aspects of the story were quite predictable, but other bits were a nice surprise, and I enjoyed the book. There was less in this book that made me cringe than there usually is in the Shopaholic books, but that might be because I don't really see aspects of myself in Emma. Who knows!

A good book, great for a quick bit of escapism, and it's now available for someone else to read. I hadn't realised it had been on my shelf for so long, having looked at when I bought it! Oops ;o)

RELEASE NOTES:

Off to dsc, to hopefully cheer her up after a disastrous experience with a book that she was really looking forward to reading! Hope this is better than "that linger thing"! *lol* ;o) (Linger awhile, I think it was?)

I just received this book this morning from Katie1980, as a RABCK. Thank you very much, and also for the little choccie treat which came with it!! This book looks brand new, I'm scared to break the spine!
This looks like a fun read, haven't tried any "chick lit" before. I'll start this today as I just finished Roald Dahl's "The Twits" last night.

Just finished this. I made a mistake, I have read a chick lit before, "Bridget Jones' Diary" and I found this to be in a similar vein.

Emma is not someone I can identify with, but some of the situations she got in were quite amusing. Everything is a crisis and blown out of proportion. Do twenty something career girls really worry about these kind of things? Wearing knickers that are too small because your boyfriend bought them for you?

I found the relationship with her and her flatmates made me think about the 3 girls on 'Two Pints of lager...' on TV, one of them is definately based on ditzy Louise.

I did quite enjoy it though for a bit of escapism.

I offered it to my step-sister but she has already read it, so I may take it to the meet in Oswestry tomorrow or leave it on a train to Liverpool on Tuesday.

Thanks katie1980, it was better than "that linger thing"!!!!!
