A Year in the Merde

I read it a while ago, but I have been too busy to be able to post anything here.
This book is supposed to be a hilarious one, but I guess I have no sense of humour at all!
The protagonist, Paul West, arrives in Paris to start a new job, and finds out what the French are really like. That is what the cover of the book says...but I think it is more a collection of stupid stereotypes about French people. And the "funny" thing is that the author seems to have spent 10 years living in Paris, so this book is believed to be "an almost-true account of things that may or may not have happened to him"...oookkk
