3 journalers for this copy...

Got this from the Regent 24 hour booksale for $1.50
I have heard that its a good book.
I saw the name of the book and thought it was a gret name for a book.
Then I saw the price and new I could afford it and it looks so very new and it was published in September 2004.
Then I read the back and it mentioned Otago and New Zealand, both of where I live, so it can't be too bad a book!! :o)

Started reading this last night (Friday 12 August 2005).
Not an easy start to the book but will keep trying.

I stopped reading it last time I started.
However I have started it again, Monday 18th, and have gotten further than last time.
Once I got past the first 30 or so pages it got better and I am enjoying it.

Once I was able to get into the book, I really enjoyed it.
I like the fact that she grew up reading so much, so often. For her education as well as for herself.
I think I finished it on Sunday 2nd March, I should update my books more often!!
I plan to take this book to the next Chch meetup to see if anyone else wants to read it.

I'm much too distracted to write the review this book really deserves :-)
A fascinating novel/autobiography (it's apt that one of the authors she mentions is Janet Frame, who similarly blurred the lines between fiction and autobiography), tracing a life through the books that have contributed to it.
Reminded me of some great books I really must read again one day, and introduced me to some others that I'll have to seek out.
