From the back cover:
Los Angeles prosecutor, sleuth, and forensic lanthanomancer Lee Enfield relies on her mystic Sight to gather the truth from suspects and crime scenes. But when she investigates the shooting death of an Alfen media exec, her powers, like those of her fayhound partner Gelert, uncover only deeper mysteries. The murder is revealed to be part of a deadly plot against Elves, and mounting evidence implicates the highest members of the Alfheim government...including the Elf-King himself. Now, to determine the truth, Lee and Gelert must secretly infiltrate Alfheim, a universe forbidden to mortals--and crack the case before an interdimensional war destroys all creation.

I made it almost through 50 pages of the book and it just wasn't grabbing me. Since I have so many books still on Mount TBR, I'm going to pass on finishing this one.

Saw a review of this on Amazon that grabbed me, so I'll see if I get on better thasn Karendawn with it! THanks so much for sending all the way to England xx
DOn't think it's going to do it for me eithre..and as it's been here far too long, it's moving in a bookbox. Thanks Karen xx
Came home in my bookbox - I love fantasy novels, so hope I can crack this one!! Added to my growing pile of TBR
This book could be the epitome of the phrase 'don't judge a book by its cover'! If I was going on that alone, I would guess it was a cheap, high fantasy children's book, with stereotypical characters and a plot that involves a big Quest...how wrong can you be?
I personally think this leans towards the Sci-fi end of the spectrum, with gates to travel between parallel universes and ships that can travel faster then light. Ok, so they are powered by fairy-gold, and there are elves, and basically a talking dog, but...well...you'll have to read it to find out what I mean.
So overall, I really liked it. The fact that our world is the 'not-so-nice-one' with a low ethical quotient, was a really intriguing idea. And I really liked the the way the courts run...where Justice herself is summoned and forces you to admit your guilt and sentance. Brilliant.
Thanks for sharing...this was a new author for me and one I am glad that I've discovered.

This is a great book by one of my favorite authors, and I apparently mooched it almost 7 years ago. I recently finished unpacking and cataloging my books and I realized that this one belonged to bookcrossing! I'm not sure how I've missed the stickers, but I'm going to read it again and then set it loose.
