An extraordinary epic, brilliantly-imagined, new novel from a world-class writer and author of The Name of the Rose. Discover the Middle Ages with Baudolino - a wondrous, dazzling, beguiling tale of history, myth and invention. It is 1204, and Constantinople is being sacked and burned by the knights of the fourth Crusade. Amid the carnage and confusion Baudolino saves a Byzantine historian and high court official from certain death at the hands of the crusading warriors, and proceeds to tell his own fantastical story.

I might be that I never read The Name of The Rose. I know the story, maybe because of the film. This story I know nothing about, so far. Thank you for the book, Candy-Darling!
This is quite a story! It brought into my mind Don Quijote and just now I read the back cover there the central figure is compaired to Sancho Panza.
When I think it over, it seems that Eco has also taken ideas from Odysseia, Gulliver's travels and who knows what and made a mixture of them all to suit his tastes. I guess many readers like it. I did.
Thank you for the book, Candy Darling!
This is my #83 (100) in "REDUCE MOUNT TBR 2010" Challenge arranged by DoveiLibri.
