I've been wanting to read this for a while, I'm fascinated by Scandinavian literaure. Sadly it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. It tells the story of Hlynur Bjorn, professional layabout and his world of drugs, sex, parties and sleeping. It was really heavy going but I'm pleased to have had the chance to read it, even if I didn't particularly enjoy it.

This book made me feel many things. Sometimes it repulsed me and I wanted to stop reading it, sometimes it bored me, and other times it was enthralling. I'm glad I kept at it until the end though. The characters reminded me of a couple of people I know and have met (scarily enough), and maybe that's what made me the most uncomfortable. Will wild release soon.
