When the precious clue-tongued mango voles at the Amazing Kingdom of Thrills on North Key Largo are stolen by heartless, ruthless thugs, Joe Winder wants to uncover why, and find the voles. Joe is lately a PR man for the Amazing Kingdom theme park, but now that the voles are gone, Winder is dragged along in their wake through a series of weird and lethal events that begin with the sleazy real-estate agent/villain Francis X. Kingsbury and can end only one way....
As usual, Hiaasen is a fun read. Laughed out loud many many times. Just ludicrous some of the things!

Giving to an avid reader at work -- can he become an avid bookcrosser? We'll see. He is one anyhow, just not "formally".

Came in to work and found the book on my desk this morning. Will need to fit it into my own hectic book reading schedule, lol.
I can see where Hiaassen would be enjoyed by some. Alas, I was not one of them. The characters, until the very end, appeared very two-dimensional, and most of the situations he came up with were so fabricated as to lose any credibility to the story they were trying to portray. Violence and gross humor were the norm, rather then the exception, and I guess I was simply hoping for more from a "New York Times Bestselling Author." So many times I thought and hoped Hiaassen would turn things around, but the book seemed to keep sinking in on itself until the very end.
I enjoyed the epilogue, where he summarized what finally ended up happening with each of the primary characters, but then I realized that this was the only time where the characters finally broke their stereotypical molds, and then I felt cheated that it took an epilogue in order to do this.
