Spanning a lifetime, this novel delves into the lives of two couples and their offspring in artistic New York. The obvious middle-class artistic lifestyle does not distract from a compelling, thoughtful and insightful look into love, friendship, loss, grief, parenthood and life. The beautiful and simplistic prose in which this novel is presented makes the characters more so believable, and in touch with its own pulse. A must read.
