I thought that the plot was really interesting in this book. It follows a painting by Vermeer, through the lives of its owners, backward in time to the date of its creation. It was interesting and I enjoyed reading about Dutch life. However, for some reason the book just didn't grab me that much. I just didn't feel involved with the characters that much. That is why I rated it the way that I did. I just couldnt get that involved with the story itself.
