An interesting story of a New Zealand writer who with fragmented education was accepted into the Journalism Course at Columbia University New York. She then went on and contributed many articles and wrote several novels. She returned to NZ after living overseas for several years. This is a good biography and you can empathise with Jane Mander's struggles.
