The only book by this author I haven't read yet - so I couldn't resist. The others have all been lovely books.

I was not disapointed with this book - such an interesting story and so well written. You are split between the present day search of an American in France for her distant ancestors, and the story of those ancestors from their point of view. It is a story of strong women, doubts about relationships, finding yourself and trying to work out where you belong. I could not put it down and now my Mum is throughly enjoying reading it - she is so hard to please it makes a refreshing change to find a book she enjoys.

Am journalling to say I now have the book. I am supposed to be putting in a comment for Sandy's grandma who had the book before me,but cannot remember what she wanted to say other than she enjoyed the book. It is now going onto mount TBR to emerge again later

I really enjoyed this - and found it difficult to put down, read in 3 sittings - had to stop to sleep and go to a family party. Will keep to see if Sandy wants to read before sending back to Weebly

I have been given this to add to TBR - not sure when it will get read, but definately at some point in the next year :s

So when I said at some point in the next year, what I actually meant was at some point in the next 2 years (Year Abroad kind of got in the way!)
I've finally read this and I really enjoyed the way the 2 stories were written in parallel. The tension was built up really well.
I will release it at the Newcastle Meet tonight.

Picked up at the meet last night. Going on TBR, lets see if I can be quicker with it than Sandy ;-)
(given that my current reading challenge is to get through everything that is pre uncon 2007, before uncon 2009, it might be close)

Journal Entry 8 by suedo from Redditch, Worcestershire United Kingdom on Tuesday, October 13, 2009
only one day over the two year mark, not bad for me.
A good story very engaging, but not easy reading, and if you're thinking about the whole kids, when to, and who with question, this is not the book for you!
