Really delightful. I had no idea what this was about when I purchased it. It is a collection of experiences of a British couple who move to a remote farm in Spain. They live a simple, rural existence and the book tells of their challenges, chores and joys including the birth of daughter Chloe. I enjoyed, as I often do, a glimpse into a lifestyle different from my own. Trading this to bethieb for See Jane Die. Will mail this Friday, 8/26/05.
This arrived today. Thanks to MysteryMish for the trade!
I had stumbled across this book a few times while looking around the site. I had seen it listed as a "travel" book and really wasn't sure what it would be, but it had always received many stars and much praise so I was intrigued. It wasn't so much a travel book, passing through a place and getting a glimpse. It was about settling in and getting to know the people and learning the traditions and daily life. I loved the local people and their brusque nature and their centuries old way of dealing with anything from planting garlic to death.
Many thanks to MysteryMish for the trade!
