A surprise gift from the mother of a friend. Nevada Barr is an author I'll read when she crosses my path, but not one I search out. If one is familiar with the park that is the book setting you find you recognize not only the places but many of the characters.
In this book the super Anna Pigeon is undercover at Yosemite. This involves working as a waitress and living in the dorm in order to try and discover if missing people are dead or in hiding.
All I can say is that Anna deserves more than the 20 year retirement option... Super ranger solves the case, as always.
Already promised to rooshill!

Thanks Mom! :)
I had forgotten our quick discussion of a couple weeks ago. It may be a while (I have a couple rings here) but I look foward to reading this and apologizing for bashing it. *impudent grin*

Not bad. Some parts were just a little too pat, but overall a fun adventure/mystery story. The author was fairly accurate in the Parks Service descriptions, too - much better than other books I've read featuring "Forest Rangers" and such. Then again, I bleed green, as in USDAFS, so there could be things I'm missing here that my DOI buddies would be making fun of... Overall, a fun, quick read that didn't have me rolling my eyes much. :)
