Having read most of John Wyndham's books as a child I had forgotten what an exceptional writer he is. Clear and gripping, setting out a complex story in a form an older child can understand and an adult can thoroughly enjoy.
I'm now going to search out the Midwich Cuckoos and the Chrysalids and see how they are on second reading.
