I bought this book in a charity shop after being intrigued by the author's name, my family once vaguely knew a writer called Peter Robinson and I wondered if it was the same person. I still don't know if it is, but the book looks good!

Brief Synopsis:

Two masked men abduct an accountant and the incident is witnessed by the man's wife and daughter. Soon after shots are heard at the nearby barn on the accountant's Yorkshire property. The man's face has been blasted off. Chief InspectorAlan Banks is summoned and begins investigating. It becomes clear thatthe abducted man, Keith Rothwell, was not all he seemed to be. Layerafter layer is peeled off his public and private image, his essential identify becoming more and more elusive.
