I really like Eve Dallas. She is hard as nails on the outside, a veneer that she has made to protect herself from her emotions but still she has such compassion for the victims.
After the first murder of PA Towers in a unsavory part of the city Commander Whitney put Dallas on the case. There were absolutely no leads and to add to the pressure PA Towers was a personal friend of the Commanders. Then another murder of an actress - not many leads here and to top it off there was no connection between the actress and the PA. Then leads start to trickle in and there are a lot of toes that Dallas has to step on to try and solve the murders. Add to that a third murder.
This was hard to put down and I can't wait to read the next J.D. Robb "In Death" mystery, all I have to do is find a copy. LOL
