I bought this historic fiction in German a view years back and it tells the story of the Aztek Mixtli who, on instruction of Charles V Roman Emperor and King of Spain, reports to the Emporer's bishops the story of his people, their culture and religion.
It describes the fascinating cities and palaces as well as the cruelty of war and religious sacrifices.
I found it a very interesting book, although, for my taste, just a tick too long.
