The Land of Laughs : A Novel (BOOKRING)

My mom recommended this one! Sounds like a fun read!
The Land of Laughs was definately an interesting read...not the kind of book I'd normally pick up but I'm glad that I did. I've decided to start a book ring it. I'm really curious to hear what others think of the book.
If you're interested in joining the ring, here are the rules:
This is an international ring. Please PM me with your shipping preference. After the shipping order is determined, I will send the book along to it's first stop. Please be sure to journal it when you receive it, after you've finished it, and once you've shipped it out again. And please don't keep the book any longer than one month. Enjoy!!
Book Description:
Have you ever loved a magical book above all others? Have you ever wished the magic were real? Welcome to The Land of Laughs. A novel about how terrifying that would be.
Schoolteacher Thomas Abbey, unsure son of a film star, doesn't know who he is or what he wants--in life, in love, or in his relationship with the strange and intense Saxony Gardner. What he knows is that in his whole life nothing has touched him so deeply as the novels of Marshall France, a reclusive author of fabulous children's tales who died at forty-four.
Now Thomas and Saxony have come to France's hometown, the dreamy Midwestern town of Galen, Missouri, to write France's biography. Warned in advance that France's family may oppose them, they're surprised to find France's daughter warmly welcoming instead. But slowly they begin to see that something fantastic and horrible is happening. The magic of Marshall France has extended far beyond the printed page...leaving them with a terrifying task to undertake.

Interesting book, just as good as Wooden Sea. It reads like the horror version of Big Fish (if the movie were renovelized).

Got it today in the mail.
This was a great read and one of those books that was nearly impossible to put down before the last page. I like Carroll's use of imagination and even bought myself a copy.
Received in the mail today, all the way from Finland! Cool. I'm covered up in bookrings right now, but will get to this as quickly as I can. More later...
I have had this book forever and not gotten around to reading it. With a new job, etc., it doesn't look like I will be able to get to it. I have PMed Buffra but if she sent me an address I've lost it, so I PMed again tonight. Will move this along ASAP. I apologize for the delay.
Mailed to Buffra via media mail today.
Caught, caught, caught!
Sorry. I thought I had journalled its arrival, but apparently not.
I've finished it and am going to be returning it to its home shortly.
Thanks so much. (more of a real journal entry later, just wanted to update re: the book's whereabouts)
