The Hobbit : The Enchanting Prelude to The Lord of the Rings

Although some may class this book as "Fantasy", I believe it belongs in the loftier category of "Literature".The Hobbit is a book for any age...it's well written, and interesting to the end. And besides, who could put down a book that begins: "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."
