The Devil Wears Prada

I am Australian and caught my first BookCrossing book in Paris - so it is only right that I the first book I release into the wild in Australia should be a book which I bought in Paris. This is not the sort of novel which I usually read but I wanted something "light" while I was travelling. I certainly got it. This book was a bestseller and many people loved it. I did not. It starts out quite amusingly but becomes repetitious and silly. The ending is predictable and unrealistic. I agree with other reviewers of this book who say that the heroine is immature, self-indulgent and whiney - but perhaps that is the point. I did enjoy the clothes references and descriptions and after all, did read it to the end, so it's not all bad! Anyway, as I said, many readers thought it was terrific. I hope someone who shares that opinion catches it. I wish this little traveller well for the future and i do hope i hear from it again.
Last night I gave this book to a lovely lady called Sarah, who is visiting from Germany. She was visiting mutual friends in Adelaide and today is leaving for Perth. So she has undertaken to release this book in Perth. Thank you Sarah! I am really looking forward to reading what happens next to this well-travelled book (Paris - Adelaide - Perth and that's only the beginning)!

I haven't read that much yet. Because Perth is such an interesting and lovely town that I hadn't that much time to read. It's not the kind of book I usually read, so I can't say it's one of my favourite books. I havn't found a place where I want to leave it yet, but I'm searching...
Disappointing main character strength and needed to explain relationship with Lily earlier in the book. However, it was good for laugh and for an easy read.
