Water of Death

A futuristic Auld Reekie is transformed by global warming into a practically tropical climate. Edinburgh is its own city-state and much of England and Scotland is in a state of anarchy.
I enjoyed the setting of this book more than anything. It was fun to read about certain streets and buildings and be able to picture them. The Water of Leith was a major clue in this book and I used to take walks every day along it when I lived in Edinburgh.
Unfortunately, I didn't love the story. I found the hypothetical future a bit farfetched. I didn't really care much for the characters and I found our "hero" a bit too much of a player.
