A book in the Bernie Rhodenbarr burglar/bookseller series. I discovered this series a while ago and borrowed and read them all from the library. Then when I was cleaning up from a bookcase collapse at home I found this unread copy. Apparently before I discovered this series I had seen this book and bought it, but never got around to reading it then.

Oh no! I can't possibly let this one go without reading it first! A bookseller who's a burglar! My secret fantasy revealed - to nip into peoples houses and remove all their best books. Heheheheheh.

Thanks, thebiblioholic! I suspect I'm going to be hunting up the rest of the series - this looks like pure gold!

We had a mini-meetup to welcome SKingList to Canberra on her epic journey around Australia by bus and backpack. When she said she was from New York, same same as thefamous thebiblioholic, I had to give her this book!

My flatmate mentioned she was re-reading the PJ O'Rourke book she just got in Tokyo and I invited her to peruse my 'library' -- she came out saying 'Cool a Lawrence Block book!' So it's visiting with her at the moment :)

RELEASE NOTES:

Amanda returned it to me before she left for Tokyo and I never journalled it, whoops.

I never did manage to read it, but decided 9 months was waaay too long to be holding on to a BC book that wasn't my own, so it's on its way.

Posted off to totoroandmei this afternoon with a bunch of other books.

Wow...I'm so crap! Did it really take me 3 months to get around to reading this book???

I think I picked it up once, didn't like it and put it aside for a while. I happened to pick it up again a few days ago and couldn't put it down! What a good book!

This book is traveling around...somewhere. I've just gone through my back room and can't find it! I do remember giving it to...someone...somewhere. Journal it, whoever I gave it to!!!!

Actually much better than the cover lead me to believe. Surprisingly clever and well written. Also, an ending that is not implausible but yet will catch you by surprise because you won't believe that you didn't notice all of those details!
