Journal Entry 1 by wingbookczukwing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA on Tuesday, March 1, 2005
I received this book and this one from the photographer of Cafe Haiku after meeting him via Bookcrossing. He found out about bookcrossing, when someone freed one of his books, which, in turn, led him to write bookcrossing, where he found me in my support role...which in turn led me to find out about the book. A nice full circle.

I am sending this to an intrepid bookcrosser, who has a habit of travelling far and wide, it seems. As he will be at three of the conventions and the location of a fourth, I'm hoping he'll take the book with him, have it journaled by as many people as possible, and sent back to me, eventually.

So how 'bout it Pete? You up for another type of bookabout? No need to get fancy. Just pass it around till full and send it back!

Cheers!

In the nick of time the postie dropped this off. I'll take it on my travels and stand over people until they write in it with trembling hands.

Or dong me over the head with it.

I had to deliver a book to the War Memorial this morning so I took this book with me to give it a bit of a look at Canberra before we fly off. We're looking straight down Anzac Parade to the two Parliament Houses across the lake. The old white "wedding cake" and the new one beyond. We'll be in Sydney tonight.

The BookCrossing Gods are smiling!

Heck with Irish Eyes! Now I know what really matters in the cosmos! BookCrossing!! Woo Hoo! I am sooooo glad this arrived! I was beginning to despair, and a discouraged czuk is just not a pretty sight!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Safe and Happy travels to you and all.

Journal Entry 4 by Skyring from Reid, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Thursday, March 17, 2005
Thank YOU, Czuk dear, for sending this to me, and pass on my thanks to the author. We'll blame Australia Post for sitting on it to increase the tension.

I had to deliver my book to the Research Section downstairs, where they were eagerly awaiting my arrival. Just beside the entrance was the post WW2 gallery, where I shot a helicopter and Fire Support Vehicle. The book looks yellow in the flash, but it's not really!

Hi Bookczuk, I am just back from a wonderful evening with Skyring and his wife as well as a few other Dunedin bookcrossers who I am sure you will hear from very soon.
I am still using the bookstring you sent as my prize for jointly winning the "show us your town" release challenge by the way, it's great; the cat likes it too!
Hi Pete it was great to meet you and your wife and I hope we can catch up again sometime. Have a wonderful time in Christchurch!!

I have added a photo of Dunedin looking south from the top of North East Valley, if you look hard you can even see my house!

Hi Bookczuk, I got to sign your book tonight at the Dunedin Bookcrossing meetup. *waves* at Skyring - it was lovely to meet you and your wife tonight, and I hope you have a great time at the convention!

Oh you absolutely lovely people! I have had the best day just remembering the journal notes that greeted me this morning. I can't get to any of the Conventions this year, but at least this way, I feel a part of things. Bliss!

10,000 thank yous from a very grateful Bookczuk:)

I wrote a small amount in this journal last night at our meetup in Dunedin, where I met Pete and Kerry for the first time.
I might write again in the journal as I'm going to the NZ BC Convention and it will turn up there!! :o)

Journal Entry 9 by futurecat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Wednesday, March 23, 2005

Well i was in the middle of Nova Prospekt ... you know that bit where all those Combine soldiers come to get you and Alyx is sitting somewhere probably in a comfy chair eating bourbon biscuits and downing a pint of Algerian Scotch ... well anyway, i was in the middle of it and then i got told to do this journal entry ... and well what do you know??? I've nearly finished it so i can go back to finishing that bit off. Don't have nightmares ... oh and Half Life 2 is a damn sight better than journalling books any day mwah haa haa haaaa ...

Another one of the journal books floating around at the NZ BookCrossing convention.

Journal Entry 14 by wingcatsalivewing from Rooty Hill, New South Wales Australia on Sunday, March 27, 2005
This little red book made an appearance at the BCNZ Convention at last night's dinner/debate, so I made a journal entry in it.

Here's the NZ team - rarsberry, FutureCat, lytteltonwitch - with their super mugs that change from black to the way they look here when hot water is added (courtesy of Mundoo).

One of the numerous journals floating around at the NZ Bookcrossing Convention. Filled in my bit.

Journal Entry 16 by hadash1 from Dunedin, Otago New Zealand on Tuesday, March 29, 2005
A fun book that I wrote in (check the page with the 'chained foot') as did everyone that night at the pizza restaurant. I am the last to make an entry because the BCID had rubbed of my hand, though not before I had transferred it to the back of the envelope that I need to return to the Mouth and foot Painting Artists... (long story - short post)

The third journal I wrote in at the NZ convention. I am still not full of inspiration...

Journal Entry 18 by wingbookczukwing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA on Monday, April 4, 2005
Ah puppymummy-
You may not be full of inspiration, but you were the person who got the one book out of the seven I sent to the convention that actually arrived in time for the event!

And a book that was a successful book-ray at that!

Journal Entry 19 by wingcatsalivewing from Rooty Hill, New South Wales Australia on Monday, April 4, 2005
And here's a beauty of Skyring doing his haka/haiku at the debate night.

Right.
before I say anything else I demand to know where the book label from this book came from?
#16 - with the Pandas - it is FANTASTIC!
Bookczuk, what's the secret??

Ok - now that's off my chest, great to see and add to this journal over lunch at the Australian National Library today.

Journal Entry 21 by wingbookczukwing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA on Monday, April 4, 2005
heh- there's gotta be some advantange to being in BC support and having to deal with crazed BookCrossers who have forgotten to log in, or lost their password, or accidentially deleted their entire shelf, or want to know the difference between found and caught books, or ask what is a book ring anyway or, or , or!!!!

That label will be debuting this year. Isn't it marvelous??? Once Morris and some of the other back plates clear out, the new other new ones for the year will make an appearance and they are all MARVELOUS!

I love the panda, though, personally.

And catsalive- thank you very much...I may have nightmares now, thanks to that picture! (sorry Pete!)

Hi All:

Just got this email from the creator of this book, who was the photographer for CAfe Haiku.
All about Cafe Haiku Slams and Radio Slam webcast.

Jsut passing it on FWIW. Sounds a little like the NZ debate, without the radio broadcast!

Journal Entry 23 by alliesolskjaer from Ealing, Greater London United Kingdom on Sunday, April 10, 2005
Skyring brought this along to the Renegades' meet-up at the Stamford Arms last Friday (8th). I left my little contribution!

Another Renegade entry, this time by me, under the 'how I feel' page.

Well, blush. Yet another journal I signed in Fort Worth, Texas, at the convention that I neglected to journal here at the time. At this moment, I don't even remember which of the funny/ serious/ thoughtful/ wonderful pages resonated for me and I signed. I do remember it was sitting on a bench on a street corner in F. W. while a bunch of us bookcrossers were waiting impatiently for a table to be made ready for 9 of us at ... hmmm, what are the initials? P.F. Changs? Dinner was excellent and the company even better. Hope all the signers in this journal have as happy memories as I have.

P.S. My cat, Cassy, looking grumpy in his halo, seemed appropriate here.

P.P.S. But, but, but there were dozens of us signing the book at the convention ... I don't feel _quite_ as bad for forgetting to post here, but am vaguely worried that I jinxed it. Happy travels, little booklet, where ever you wound up.

Oh noooooooooooo! Did I not make my mark??!!! I'm duhvustated :(

OK sorry bookczuk, I wrote in this journal at the NZ Easter Convention in Christchurch, pretty soon after our -ahem- non-winning debate! How *did* the kiwis win?!
My entry was against "I do not regret....." whereat I wrote MORNINGTON CRESCENT!
We had a great time in Christchurch and I am looking forward to visiting again, hopefully with the rest of the family, not just lollie-mavette.

I hope more people remember to journal the book. *g*
