Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats
3 journalers for this copy...
Every now and again I dip into this book. The poems inspired Andrew Loyd Webber's muscial Cats, which I saw in Preston in 1990.
From Mungojerrie & Rumpelteazer
~~ And when you hear a dining room smash
or up from the pantry there came a loud crash
Or down from the library came a loud ping
From a vase which was commonly said to be Ming --
Then the family would say:"Now which was which cat?
It was Mungojerrie AND Rumpelteazer!"--And there's
nothing at all to be done about that!

Thanks, wil let u know when I have read it, etc!
update: 17/6/05
Finally got this read - enjoyed the lyrics which started the musical cats....
It is beautifully written in such a way that you can picture each cat and almost feel like you have met them!
Thanks for this loan.

Very pleased to have picked this up at the Newcastle BC meet tonight at the Tyneside cinema. There's a note inside on a yellow sticky note. "Anglers Rest would love to meet more bookcrossers as long as it is journalled before it is sent home". A bit cryptic, I'm not really sure what it means. The Newcastle bookcrossers' email list is here http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/northeastbookcrossers/ and I'm more than happy to send this back to the original owner, just let me know. And many thanks!

This was one of the first books that I sent out on its travels. It went off to Hellie on loan who asked if I objected to it being read by any BC'ers at her local meet, before it came home. I said that I was happy for the book to be read by others, before coming home.
Its a super little book, & I hope you enjoy it.

Can I please have an update on when this loan book is coming home!

Hello Angler's Rest. This book was definitely returned to a BC meet in either Durham or Newcastle. I'll ask on the mailing list (see above) if anyone still has it. Unusual that it hasn't been journalled.

Marvellous, I'm so pleased. Took a month, after being stuck in the Postal strike. Maybe my other books will start arriving too.
Thanks for your kindness. :)
