I read this book a few years ago. Found it intersting and a little disturbing! This is the first book in the series charting this family.

I remember all the girls at school reading this book when I was about 13 - it was considered really scandalous for the eighties - how times have changed. I found it next to me on the steps of the National Theatre on the South Bank of the Thames. Lots of people were sitting out on Friday evening having a drink and enjoying the sunshine. I didn't see who put it there but it wasn't there when I sat down. So thanks! I'm going to Scotland on holiday next month - I think I'll take the book with me and pass it on there.
