RELEASE NOTES:

A huge sack of books arrived today - too late for the convention, unfortunately, but they'll still be greatly appreciated by the Christchurch Bookcrossers, and a few might end up travelling over to Australia for the Brisbane convention in June.
I don't know if I'm the bookcrosser this was intended for (the bag it was in ripped, so if there was a note with it, it's been lost), but I was on the organising team, and this book is definitely on my wish-list, so I'm claiming it! ;-)
Many thanks nekki!

Hmmm... I can see why this was a best-seller - it certainly hits all the right buttons. The trouble is, to me it felt all a bit too calculated - I could almost sense the author working out at each point exactly how to extract maximum impact (and maximum sales). You can't beat a good conspiracy theory though, and this one certainly is a fun one - it's got just enough elements of truth to it to make the whole seem plausible (it was almost disappointing to have previously read enough about the various Grail legends to be able to debunk parts of it!).
Glad I've finally had the chance to read the book everyone's been talking about (and to read it in such a lovely illustrated edition - it's too heavy to read in bed, though!)
Thanks, nekki!

Given to TopKat at the Dunedin meetup on Saturday. Her husband is a big fan of The Da Vinci Code, so will probably enjoy reading an illustrated edition.

FutureCat you sweety you. What a beautifully illustrated book. Husband Gervan has had a quick browse already and is very keen to begin reading! Might have it finished in time to take it to Brisbane with us?
The book was caught at a meeting between some Chrstchurch Dunedin and Alexandra (me) bookcrossers. Had a lovely brunch at a restaurant in North Dunedin - lots of laughs and lots of books! A great day!

'fraid I made a mistake! The ANON entry previously is mine _ I forgot to log on!!!
TopKat gave me this book to take down to the meetup in Dunedin on Saturday, where it was either picked up by another bookcrosser or added to the ever-growing pile of books to be released at the NZBC convention in February.

Won this beautiful book as a member of the runner-up team in the final evening's quiz at the New Zealand Bookcrossing Convention in Dunedin, February 2006. I have already read the story and enjoyed it, except towards the end where it got a little "contrived" (so many books do that - it's disappointing!). I pretty much intend to look through the pictures and then I have a perfect release place in mind!!!! :)

This is a book that needs images - the first time I read it I had to check the art books as I read ! This edition is so much more satisfactory.

Delighted to find the illustrated copy on a seat in Merivale Mall. I have already read all of Dan Browns books but will enjoy reading the illustrated copy. I will take good care of it. Thank you to who ever left it there :-) Bringing it home with me made my day ! ... This book was released several weeks ago in the cafe at the Christchurch Art gallery ( June 2006 )

We were pleasantly surprised to find this book in the Art Gallery in Christchurch. What a great idea - passing books around the world.
I really enjoyed the book - it was very intriguing and kept you wanting more. My partner read the book first so I had to wait for a while. I made sure that he didn't tell me anything throughout! It was great to be able to read the special illustrated edition - it just added to it.
We haven't decided where we are going to take it yet, but we will definitely be passing it on. Thanks for the opportunity.
