It contains texts of conversations and interviews recorded and filmed in Italy, language notes, information about Italy, excercises and reading passages. At the back of the book there is a reference section containing a key to the exercises, a grammer and a glossary.

This book can also be used on its own as an introduction to simple, everyday Italian. In addition, there are cassettes containing conversations and interviews printed in this book, and offering stage by stage pronunciation practice and further exercise material.
