The Risk Pool

I found this book on a bench in Washington Park, Anacortes, Washington. I'd just finished reading "The Whore's Child and Other Stories," so it seemed very fortuitious that I found this book. I loved the previously-noted one, and, although I've only gotten about a third of the way through this one, I'm enjoying it SO MUCH already. Russo is great at expressing the nuances of parent/child relationships by using brief but very revealing dialogue and then short, introspective explanations. I can really feel what the characters are trying to express, even when they use minimal words. Russo is good.
