I found this book at the Meetup in Zürich today and couldn't resist. It was nice meeting you ScarletBea, I hope it wasn't for the last time.

I'm sorry I give up... I'm halfway through it, but it just doesn't get better...

I don't like this book. I don't like either Harry or his friend Gerrard. I think their attitude with women is horrible and their friendship is very strange, they seem to hate each other in every possible way. Women are just objects for them. Maybe I just don't get the humour but why should I have to look for it.

Maybe I'm just too old for chicklit? It has happened to me before that I suddenly don't enjoy certain genres as much anymore.

Ich bin heute ganz per Zufall (wer's glaubt) mal wieder an diesem Büchergestell vorbeigekommen im Kafi Gloria, naja, irgendwer muss ja mal schauen, wie es denn freigelassenen Büchern vom letzten Meetup geht (ja es hat noch einige!!!) und jetzt ist da eben auch Girlfriend 44 ;-)) (und ich habe dafür wieder ein neues Buch mitgenommen)

Das Buch liegt immer noch im Café Gloria - seit heute die erste OBCZ von Zürich *freu*

I agree with KatColorado - i didn't really get this book, although i did read it all the way through. The male characters were arrogant, sexist, stupid and written in a 2-dimensional way. The female characters appeared to be 'backdrops' to them. Plus, I didn't think the narrative worked - long book, no real sense of pace or conflict / resolution.

Boy (cheats and lies and poisons to get girl) / Boy fights with so called friend / Boy cheats on girl / girl doesn't have much to say for herself / girl finds out about boy cheating / girl dumps boy / boy belatedly realises what an idiot he is.

I always read books to the end, but this one wasn't really worth the effort.

Hi there i found this book in the main Station (Zurich haptbarnhoff) on an Ebay exchange point!!
i look forward to reading it the leaving it somewhere to be found.. i may wait untill i go oversea in a couple of weeks.

Being from the Uk i may just leave it in the airport when heading back so other may pick it up!

I just can't get into this book!! I find the two main characters childish and extremly selfish and to be honest i don't want to know more!
