I read this book years ago so I can't remember the details but I do remember that it was pretty good and that I enjoyed reading it.
A drug-smuggling ring gains power in post-Cold War Europe. At its helm is a mentally dexterous Englishman named Roper. Former British soldier Jonathan Pine has an old score to settle with Roper, and he's willing to infiltrate the group to destroy his enemy.

Part of an Int'l BookBox, on its way to eicuthbertson's in Canada.
Second time at least reading this book. le Carre always gives you something to think about---well, except for his The Little Drummer Girl, which I thought unreadable. Maybe I should try that one again, too.

I gave up on this book. 250 pages into it, and I still couldn't figure out what was going on. To top that off, every time I picked it up, I got a headache. Coincidence?
Anyway, it was the last book I had to read in the bookbox, so I'm packing everything up and mailing it off today.
