An interesting historical account of the first group of women to be transported by the British to Botany Bay, Australia.
The book feels a bit "academic" with excerpts from trial testimony, government statistics, contemporary journals, maritime records and a healthy dose of 18th century social history.
Nevertheless, it manages to keep the pace moving along in a coherent way and was a surprisingly enjoyable read.
I will be releasing this at the April BookCrossing Meetup.

I picked this up at the London meet-up last night. Alex26 recommended it to me so I'll be interested to read it and see what I think!
