A horrifying story. However, I'd have liked to have found out the outcome of her prosecution against her mother and what subsequently happened to them all. The book seemed to end rather abruptly.

Arrived today thanks!
As a teacher - I have come across one 'known' case of this, and it was a nightmare for all inviolved - not least those of us who taught the children concerned...
I am looking forward to reading this, to understand a little more about it - maybe it will help me to make sense of the experience we knew of...

What can I say but WOW!
Powerful stuff. I started this beofre I went to work last night, had to prise myself away form it, red more when went to bed last night and have just read the last HALF in the bath!
In all honesty although it is easy to read, it is hard reading if that makes sense, and variou sparts of it reduced me to tears - tears for Julie, and tears for the child(ren)I knew who we were convinced were 'in the hands' of MBP.......
Nopt to mention for all the children out there in Julie's position...I only hope this book will make people realise how deadly dangerous this is, and that it is in fact child abuse - maybe then it can be stopped......I felt myself boiling with rage at her mother, and other mothers who do this to their children- but then I guess they themselves are sick and we ned to feel sorry for them really....
That said I know what M-c meant - it does kind of end rather abruptly - I;'d have like to know the outcome of the prosecution and how they all ended up.....
Though I pacified myself knowing, she had realised, wouldn't allow it to happen to another and had found herself and hopefully the happiness she deserves.
I know I saw her interviewed on TV months ago and she seemed to have turned her situation around to dd good.
Anyway - thanks for giving me the chance to read this - i am going to give it to a couple of colleagues who work with 'vulnerable ' children to read, then will probably keep it to release at a future meet- I'd rather it went to someone who chooses to read it......

This was a harrowing read in places, I wanted to weep for what Sandy had inflicted on Julie, the foster children, the vets and her new 'adopted' children. The way Sandy manipulated her husband and the authorities was awful and there were times I wanted to shout out as if it would someway change what happened and warn people.

The ending was rather abrupt but I found Julie's own website which has updates. http://www.juliegregory.com/update.htm

Not sure where this book is going yet but it will be passed on in the next few days.
