The came from the local humane society garage sale last summer. I set it aside for a while, thinking I'd read it, but I don't think I will. So I'm offering it on trade at bookrelay.

From the back: "A time of reckoning for three lives in New York City: When Philip falls in love with Eliot, a man who introduces him to the highly charged world of NEw York's downtown gay life, he realizes it's time to tell his parents who he is and how he lives. His parents may not be ready for this; they face serious changes in their own lives.

"Philip's mother, Rose, is a copy editor whose eyes are trained nto to miss anything. But she does not know that her husband, once a promising academic and now director of admissions at a private school for boys, spends his Sunday afternoons in gay pornographic movie theatres. Philip's father, OWen, is terrified because he and Rose are being forced out of their apartment after twenty-one years. At the same time Owen must come to terms with his own latent homosexuality...as well as his son's startling confession.

"This is a novel about what we miss--or choose not to see--just beneath the surface of our lives. And what happens when we know too much."
