I do like Bill Bryson Books. I found this one at the red cross
The author describes his return to America after two decades of living abroad and his disconcerting reunion with his homeland as he discusses motels, tax-return instructions, and hardware stores.

Very sorry, should have journalled this one when I read it last year - but I was sorta reading two the same at the same time, and it got missed. To see some comments about this book see the entry for Bryson's Notes from a Big Country
I love his observations and his writing. This is a perceptive book which is serious and fun at the same time, and has some very interesting things to say about the American system and psyche.

Placed into the Quick Turn Around BookBag. Hoping to find another BB fan.
I'm reading and enjoying A Short History of Nearly Everything at the moment, so I'm going to hang onto this book in case I'm a BB fan in the making.
Thanks crimson-tide :)
