The prosa of Vikram Seth is excellent, and I am now curious to see what the whole story (all of the 1,474 pages) is going to be like. I've indeed managed recently to put my hands on a copy of "A Suitable Boy", the book from which this excerpt is taken, so this one can now travel to a bookcrosser abroad. It would be nice if it could be passed from bookcrosser to bookcrosser as a little extra surprise to a book :)
Sent this morning by yowlyy, I've never read anything by this writer. Thank you, it was a nice surprise!
Lovely reading, altough i don't think i've understood so much about it. Anyway, it reminded me about Conrad's books and it's an interesting description of indian culture of the last century!
