Received today - about 4th in my list to read - lucky you're not in a tearing hurry for it Yvonne.

A very nice, easy read. I particularly liked The Time I Heard The Private Donald J. Rankin String Concerto with One Discordant Violin, by the American Composer John Morton. I must get on & read Life of Pi very soon.

As no one else seems interested, I'll just hang onto it until I see you again Yvonne. Thanks for letting me read it.

I really enjoyed Life of Pi, so when the opportunity came up to read this I simply had to try it. Don't worry it will return home safely!

But it did take me quite a while to finally get it read :( Sorry about that.

I rediscovered this during the move, I think that I had been dreading any more literature after the Booker longlist trauma and so that made it really hard to pick this up, despite having loved 'Life of Pi'. I should have known better! This was an absolutely fantastic book, I don't know that I could pick a favourite story but I enjoyed pretty much all of them (not so rapt in the letter to the mother of the prisoner, couldn't quite work out what was the point).
I have to admit that I have been reading the title the whole time as about the Helsinki Reincarnations - imagine my shock at being introduced to the Roccamatios! And I'm afraid that reading this has given me a bit too much credibility - our new trivia quizmeister introduced herself to me while I was reading this, so now she believes that I read good literature. So far she hasn't yet caught me with the werewolf fantasy or Regency that were the next two books, and the impression remains...... She will be SO disappointed with me one day :)
Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to read this, it will be heading home soon to be read by its rightful owner.
