I got the book from my friend and was planning to finish it in Costa Rica and pass it on, however it took me much longer that I expected. I liked it but it is not a page-turner, even though the chapters are short and well suited to reading right before bed. Gao meanders through a bunch of loosely connected stories. Folks who are into Zen Buddhism would probably find the book interesting. I did.
